Portfolio Project-Day One

Photo: Lucy and her beautiful cousin, back in May.

You can subscribe to the Portfolio Project podcast here.

This photo is to remind you of two things today:  first, we are PLAYING.  It's just a game.  Second, you aren't alone!  We're sitting on the slide together.  Just click play to hear my podcast this morning of what to do the morning after signing up for the game called, The Portfolio Project. [display_podcast] Leave us the gory details of how it's going for you today in the comments so we can be reminded there's someone playing right next to us. To catch up from the beginning, start here.  To embed yesterday's clip on your own blog, copy and paste this into your html:

Gradness Goocious! I nearly forgot.

I have to admit, I didn't make anything yesterday, not even Christmas presents. I needed a break from the work I've been doing.

I woke up feeling anxious. Feeling like I'm getting behind.

One of the things I have discovered is that I need to make some balance.

With all the work, baby raising, cleaning, holiday preparing, painting, writing, etc, I need to build in relaxation and renewal. Or I end up burning out.

So maybe, for the beginning of the project, in addition to a reminder that this is play, we pay attention to giving back to ourselves, so we can move forward without burning out.

Is there a badge we can put on our blogs, also? I am intimidated by videos.

I'm packing up for an early drive tomorrow morning...we're off to spend Christmas with family back home.
I wanted to wish you and yours a blessed holiday season, Jen. I loved hearing your sweet voice and podcast this morning!
I'll be back with a post and clear, personal goals for Project Portfolio BEFORE the New Year ;-) I'm so looking forward to playing along.
Love and blessings,
Kirsten

Rowena,
We might have a badge after the new year. You have been creating like crazy--if it's time for you to rest and enjoy your labors, do it. God knows you've earned it these last months, Momma.

Kirsten--Safe travels and Merry Christmas!

This next week is funny. Some people will have more time to create with time off work, others will have less while they visit friends and family. I certainly took the holiday into account when making my plan. I'm squeezing in what I can, but after Christmas, going into the New Year, I'll set my hard & fast goals. We'll begin in earnest then.

I'll be posting some inspiration in the meantime, and I hope it helps knowing the New Year is coming to have a game in mind.

Oh good, Jen. It does make more sense for me to start on the first. You know, a kind of resolution in 12 weeks.

Maybe I'll spend the rest of December making my plans and figuring out my steps.

I took notes on your podcast (compulsive writer, here) and wrote about it in my blog today.

I've begun.

It's a coffee table book. Of sorts. I've just sort of jumped in, with no rhyme or reason, and started just throwing shit together. We'll see what comes out of it.

yeeesh....

shit. just found you and it's already 11:04pm in switzerland, where i live. that means i have to move fast.( i take words seriously, so i want to start today.) 6 weeks ago i decided to put all kids into one bedroom so i can have a studio for painting again. yesterday i started for the first time in months to paint- i almost screamed out of joy just to see the colors again. decided weeks ago to have an exhibition of my work in the spring. already booked a weekend in chosen space... know work is ready to come through- now birthing begins. thank you for perfect opportunity of support for this action, which i feel i need. (5 mins later) i just went and started a new blogsite (have been thinking about this for some time) and i consider this my first day's creative action. more, of course, to come.

I got up early and wrote this morning, got a good chunk of poem.

I'm going to "do the math" tonight and get a clear sense of what I want to accomplish.

Even though I'm full of doubts and apprehension, and really don't know where this will go or whether it'll work out, I'm just too curious to not give it a try. So I guess ... I'm in. http://christianefroehlich.wordpress.com/2008/12/20/do-i-dare/
